Imagine walking through your local supermarket and saw this. I can imagine thinking "there's no way this is real" or "this must cost me an arm and a leg" or "I must be in Japan!." If it's the latter, like myself at Kasumi, you find that this plate costs ¥580 (~$4.50?!) and actually tastes pretty decent. Most of the nigiri, like the tuna and the squid, weren't very flavorful but the texture was still nice. Other pieces like the gunkans or the filleted shrimp were quite pleasing. And, as a typical ending, the sweet tamago with a bit of savoriness was a great way to end my supermarket experience.
America's gotta step up their game...
