Self-introduction (自己紹介)

I'm Tommy, I'm a PhD candidate at Virginia Tech working on the Belle II experiment. In particular, I'm working on Belle II's K-Long and Muon detector (for service work) and an inelastic dark matter (iDM) analysis.

From May 1st to June 30th of 2022, I'm in Tsukuba, Japan and so for prosperity, I wanted to document my food adventures here.

Though I've had plenty of food adventures when I was in Hawai`i, I've been "out of practice" being in Blacksburg, VA for so long so this is a good chance to build back my palette and work on my communication skills. Since I am in Japan, I'll try to mix in what little Japanese I know to (hopefully) enhance these blog posts in case anyone else visiting KEK would look to try these places.

Finally, forgive me for the iPhone quality pictures.

The picture I used on the right was taken at Hihimanu Sushi in Hawai`i (Jan. 2022). I'm trying to get the right angle of a piece of nigiri and my best friend ended up capturing the moment.

I wanted to include random subset of pictures I've taken throughout my graduate career here.

Some are friends, some are other people's cats, some are sights, but most I like.

Hope you enjoy it!

I needed a safe place to store this but in case you wanted to pick some random composer to listen to (that I at least appreciate), feel free to spin the wheel.

Ranges from Baroque w/ Bach and Scarlatti to some modernist composers like Charles Ives or Scriabin. There might be a heavy skew to Romantic composers but... eh.
