For lunch, after a couple hour walk, I wanted to having something fun for lunch so I went to Coffee Tetsugaku for something light. The building almost reminded me of an up-scaled Cheesecake factory, from the large exterior to the homey interior. While the menu was full of savory pastas and pizzas, I decided to get something sweet; it's been quite some time since I've spoiled myself.
I ended up getting their mini berry parfait (ミニベリーパフェ). It had a nice combination of strawberries, apples, raspberries, blueberries, strawberry syrup, ice cream, sweet gelatin, yogurt, and whipped cream. The dish was very balanced with the tartness of the yogurt and raspberries, the sweetness from the strawberries, apples, and ice cream, and the smooth creaminess from the whipped cream. It's simple done well.
Additionally, I got an (unsweet) iced tea. The slight bitterness from the ice tea added a great reprieve from the sweetness; it was definitely a great pairing. I'm not sure if a score is justified in this case but know that it's as good as it looks.
