Since my focus is usually on food, let me show off some of the rose themed items they had. The drink in the back was rose juice. So probably a nice strawberry drink with some rose water to give it the color (and maybe the scent). We also got a nice rose-strawberry sunday with some cake at the bottom to make us feel overindulgent. The rose was actually quite prevalent
Okay, so to start off the trip was a nice orange danish from a nice bakery nearby. A pastry that wasn't too sweet because of the rind and the little chunks of orange laced in with this flaky dough was very nice. If you find picot bakery in Miyanoshita, try it!
So the main reason why we actually came to Hakone was to try and get a view of Fuji-san from a distance. Unfortunately, it was cloudy and we couldn't get the top. However, from this distance, you can see Fuji-san tower over the nearby mountain range as it's shadow covers the neighboring valley. Really an incredible sight and I really get why there's so much hype around it. When I go when Fuji-san is open, I will definitely need to do my due diligence and hike it (and maybe bring a nice camera).
The Fuji-san pic was actually from Owakudani and so we had a quick snack. I had some oden since it was a bit chilly and a fried squid cake skewer covered with some teriyaki. It's just a nice bit of protein to keep us full after the tons of walking we're doing to go from town to town. However, as one might know, Owakudani is known for the sulfer mines and specialty eggs.
Since I tried the specialty eggs at a nearby 7-11, I opted instead to try this egg flavored ice cream (which I hope is from the special black eggs). Since it's super bright yellow and tasted like a great custard, I definitely know it's just a nice ice cream base with tons of egg yolks. A very nice rich (and yet, not too sweet) hit to keep us going for the rest of the day.
Here's the picture of the sulfer mines nearby all the tourist shops that serve food.
And here is me and my colleagues taking a picture at Owakudani with Fuji-san in the background and the appearance of the infamous black egg!
After a bit of ropeways and monorails, we reached Gora and stopped by Hakone Gora Park, where I am showing the fountain nearby the park's cafe, rose garden, and greenhouse.

Hopefully, I've made Hakone sound a bit fun and I'm holding back all the tourist shops and Ashinoko views from you, the reader. However, I think it's something I will ask you to just trust me and add it to your to-do-list if you ever get the chance to stop by Hakone.
